Labels
Labels and judgments are vital to observe. A judgment is when a person creates a
mental label for another person, or situation.
It is important to be aware of where this process originates from within
us. The process of labeling originates as thoughts. Thoughts alone are sometimes labels or judgments. Alone, they are not bad or good, however, it is the identification with these thought forms that contributes to the human dysfunction. Labels then essentially, are assumptions.
Assumptions are never absolutely correct, so a good rule of thumb is to not make assumptions. It is impossible to assume something to be true in our "guess" at it, we would leave out important "tid-bits" of vital information. We are human. As humans, we are destined to make errors in our thinking. Human-beings have these little ego's that are like sponges to society's so-called rule-book. This sponge, then absorbs all kinds of prejudices to fill up the ego's repertoire.
All people should reflect on their own prejudices. A prejudice is a thought form, or a label. Thought forms describe a thought, which is in essence an interpretation. Anyone can interpret anything, all day long. The interpretation can never absolutely describe the true essence of a situation or person, or even a piece of fruit or flower.
What happens then if we don’t
label? We are then the awareness of observation when we are not labeling. We do not get drawn into the "story" or the "drama' or what everyone else is thinking. Instead, we can simply observe the situation, without creating labels. While observing, without the mental labels, we can than appreciate something as it is, rather than what we "think" it is. When we are out of our thoughts, we then can ground into our original state, energy.
We are all essentially made up
of energy. When we have a thought,
energy follows. Therefore, when we create a judgment, we are sending a specific energy to that person
or people involved in the situation. We
also, create energy within ourselves, which ultimately comes back tenfold. Therefore, it is important that we be aware and sensitive of what we are sending out into the world energetically. We send this energy out regardless of if we are conscious of it or not, so
get conscious. Being aware is a
conscious state and an active one.
If you need help with this one,
my suggestion is to take one full deep cleansing breath in, then out. And always to be aware of the intention and energy we
hold inside us. Energy is contagious, so
if you’re going to spread energy, sent the most powerful energy of all, love. And remember, love is unconditional.
