Empowerment

       Authentic empowerment happens when one-steps into their light and spiritual power rather than giving their power away.  Power is not the same as aggression;empowerment is being in alignment with one’s truth.  It is also about being in alignment with one’s life purpose.

Watch for victim-like behaviour.  Victim: complaining about other people gives them power. Coming from a place of power one would say, “This person is making me feel annoyed, etc”.  This keeps you in an empowered place rather than victimhood by complaining about their character etc.  In addition, having unconditional love and forgiveness towards others can offset anger and resentment thereby stepping out of victimhood and into self-empowerment.

While it is painful to be upset, giving the grief to the Divine can be healing.

  Itis important to go to the source of a wound, rather than cover up pain with positive affirmations like a band-aid. If people cannot vent about their pain,they can often times go to addictive behaviour. That is why it is crucial to give yourself permission to speak your truth to someone supportive.  Being able to speak one’s truth with someone understanding and supportive is vital in getting through tough times.

It is also important to protect oneself from other people’s ego’s, so please be selective of whom you choose to share your personal feeling with.  

This month, I have pulled a card from Doreen Virtue’s Goddess Guidance Oracle Card deck to see who wants to channel a message for you this week. I pulled Goddess BRIGIT,whose card reads, “Don’t Back Down.  Stand up for what you believe is right.”

Goddess Brigit’s message this month on empowerment:              

“Power is something that people are afraid,when they are already afraid.  Trust your vibes and know when to stay away from certain people and when to put your feelings first.  Listen to your intuition on all levels.  Call upon me to help give you strength and remember that it is safe for you to be powerful in this life.  Other times were not so conducive for spiritual strength.  Dip inside the well within you and pull up the courage to stand up for your truth in a loving way.  Fire is the element that forces change and can heat and bend weaknesses. Trust yourself in all ways as a method to earn your own self-esteem and build character.  Listen to your angels’ guidance and know that the divine loves each of you unconditionally.  Guilt is a product of the ego.  Feel not guilty for being who you truly are,which is powerful now.  Remember that God made each person naturally powerful and loving. It is fear and the ego that tests our faith.  Be strong always and trust yourself.  Love always, Brigit.”

Brigit reminds us that to be spiritually powerful is something that one must give themselves permission to engage.  By waiting for some external authority figure, is only another way of handing over one’s power to somebody else.  Embrace who you truly are and be truly powerful now.
